Have you visited Vancouver Island to motorcycle, or want to pass along a greeting or news to our Club? Drop us a line below.
Good morning. I am very happy to find this group. I am a huge BMW fan. Ive owned an R60/7, R90/6, F650, R1200GS and I now have my forever bike, a 1987 R80. I would love to chit chat or perhaps join the group if that's possible ?
Looks like the guest book still works Ken but that is the first notification I have received from here in a long while
We live in Ladysmith and own two BMW's. Has this club disbanded, as we do not see any notifications, events etc happening. We were members of the Ottawa BMW club for many years until we moved here in 21. My wife was a member of your club last year and does not get any updates either. Please advise.
Klaus: Please mail the club at BMWRVI@shaw.ca
Hi -- I live in Ottawa and am planning to spend Feb 2022 in Victoria. Any Club meetings or events in Feb 2022?
I may rent or buy a bike while in Victoria -- would anybody like a companion for a ride?

Hi
I know these are strange times but after looking around the site I don't see any current content. Has this group disbanded or just all laying low?
I have ended up here hoping to find that locals are still riding or even just sharing stories of past years, some service tricks, most anything that might be entertaining. Things to get us by until better days.

Hi there,
I'm trying to help out a luddite friend who has a rough running (inconsistent idle, blue &/or black smoke out the exhaust) '72 R75/5. Looking for recommendations for a shop/mechanic on the island or lower mainland who is familiar with these bikes & can give it the once over. I can be reached at scottmacdougall1000@gmail.com. Thx in advance.
I have an accommodation in Nakusp, BC. If the rally is happening this summer, perhaps someone would like to stay at my place. 5 bdrms, 3 bath, listed on airbnb.ca and website above.

Hi BMWVRI
Wife and I are interested in joining!
I dont see any events on the calendar; I would like to bring the completed sign-ups to the next meeting/event.

Guy
Greetings Folks,
I am seeking help, I bought a 2005 R1150 Adv. a while back and it is down on power that I haven't been able to fix.
I have set the tappets, sync'd the injectors, cleaned the air filter, and replaced the fuel filter. I suspect it may be the stick coils (it is a dual spark). and there is no test you can do to determine if they are faulty ( I have lain them on the cylinder with a plug and they spark but can fail under pressure) the local dealer doesn't carry any in stock as they cost $186 apiece and as is the case with any electrical component once you install it you own it and they might not be the solution.
Therefor I am asking if any of your membership that owns a dual spark 1150 would be kind enough to allow me to try their stick coils in my bike for a short test, a quick once up through the gears would prove it one way or the other.
I can be reached at 250 385 0682 or cjmacl29@gmail.com
Thank you,
Colin MacLennan

Bought a 2003 R 1200 CL and trying to join and meet with riders, need some ideas about a jammed key and ignition problem, and looking for some newer gear. Paul thx.
Hi folks, I am the new happy owner of a 1976 R60/6.The bike has 71,000 miles and has been meticulously serviced. After an exhaustive search I am turning to you for the skinny on the best semi-synthetic oil for my bike. I have settled on Golden Spectro 4 20W50. I would appreciate your input. I won't ever scrimp on lubricants and see paying more for the best as an investment process. Cheers, Laury

1994 Mystic R100 On The Market - Airhead enthusiasts and collectors alike will know the appeal of this rare BMW model. My 1994 Mystic is in very good condition, other than a small gelcoat crack on the fairing and worn tires. Relatively speaking, wish my mileage and shape was as low and as good as this vintage bike (89,200 km). It has been good run for airheads, both the model and myself whose first BMW was a new 1971 BMW R50. Contact me for further details if interested.
